Orchestra Karl Flauger
This year Karl Flauger, head of the band rocking the Ochsenbraterei, celebrates his 25th jubilee at the Wiesn. He started in 1984 as a musician at the Oktoberfes, as the band was still led by Bruno Gress. In 2004 Karl Flauger assumed the leadership, whereby also the name of the band changed into „Orchester Karl Flauger“.
The Band's members, consisting of 20 men, are mainly hailed from Bavaria, particularly from Munich, Starnberg and the regions of the Bavarian Forst. The only Non-Bavarian are the five hungarian musicians of the band. Naturally the repertoire of the band contains everything you demand from an Oktoberfest-band. Be it typical Big Band music, pop songs, actual international charts as well as classic Wiesn-songs, every guest will get his money worth.
Besides the Oktoberfest you can find the professional musicians of the Orchestra Karl Flauger on other fairs, too, for example the Ochsenfest in Hessian Wetzlar. Alongside the fairs mainly exibitions are counted among their gigs, inter alia the CeBIT and the AGRITECHNICA in Hannover, also the exibitions in Bordeaux and La Rochelle.
In the Ochsenbraterei the band can be seen and heard daily from 12am, beginning with more or less settled Bavarian folk, so the guests can enjoy their lunch in a comfortable and typical Bavarian way. In the early evening the volume will be pumped up gradually, as it is common at the Wiesn.
To answer the question which song will be this year's "Wiesnhhit", Karl Flauger tips on the song „10 Meter geh'“ from Chris Boettcher. Let's see if the "Wiesn-adepted" bandmaster hits the point here.
